Tuesday 18 April 2023 — 8.00 am

Catholics in the Conservative Party is delighted to be hosting a virtual prayer breakfast on the morning of Tuesday 18 April 2023.

The event will consist of readings and prayers and, reflections from our guest speaker followed by Q&A. The event is being hosted on Zoom, giving people across the country the opportunity to take part.

Our speaker this year is Lord Greenhalgh.

Lord (Stephen) Greenhalgh is a Conservative peer in the House of Lords. He served as a Minister in Boris Johnson’s Government from March 2020 to July 2022. He was Minister of State for Communities and Building Safety, which included responsibility for faith. He previously served as Deputy Mayor for Policing and Crime in London from 2012 until 2016, and Leader of Hammersmith and Fulham Council from 2006 until 2012.

Lord Greenhalgh has agreed to speak about the importance of local government in bringing about the common good.

The virtual prayer breakfast is taking place a couple of weeks before the local elections in May which will see council elections contested across the country.

The event is free to attend but people must register in advance.

Catholics in the Conservative Party was formally launched in January 2023 and has 10 Parliamentary Patrons. Working with CCHQ and the Conservative Christian Fellowship, we aim to strengthen links between Catholic members of the Conservative Party and make the Conservatives more attractive to the 4.5-million-strong Catholic community in Great Britain.

This event is free.
