Catholics in the Conservative Party is delighted to be hosting a virtual prayer breakfast.
W H E NThursday 15 April 2021
8.00-9.00am via Zoom.
The event is largely to support candidates and those involved in elections in May, but the event is open to anyone.
We welcome people from all Christian denominations, those of other faiths and none. All are welcome.
Three weeks before polling day – we hope this event will offer a moment of reflection, encouragement, and support to those standing for the Conservative Party in crucial elections across the UK.
Our guest speaker is Fiona Bruce MP, the Prime Minister’s Special Envoy for Freedom of Religion and Belief.
Fiona was elected to Parliament for Congleton in the 2010 General Election, and has been re-elected at three subsequent elections. Fiona’s focus in Parliament has been on championing individual freedoms and human rights, both in this country and abroad.
Prior to becoming to Special Envoy in December last year, Fiona served on the International Development Select Committee for 4 years. She currently sits on the Parliamentary Joint-Committee on Human Rights and is also Chair of the Conservative Party Human Rights Commission.
Fiona will tell us about her role as the Prime Minister’s Envoy for Freedom of Religion or Belief, and has kindly agreed to take questions from those joining us.
Our readings will be led by Sir Julian Brazier, President of Catholics in the Conservative Party, and David Burrowes, the Parliamentary Director of Conservative Christian Fellowship.
Catholics in the Conservative Party was formally launched earlier this year and has ten Parliamentary Patrons.
Working with CCHQ and the Conservative Christian Fellowship, we aim to strengthen links between Catholic member of the Party and make the Conservatives more attractive to the 4.5 million Catholic community in Great Britain.
